Five places at a university in Hungary, accepted and confirmed. Our largest single result so far.

Three co-founders put their names on one idea: education is a haq, and a haq withheld is a debt. The work had been running for months by then. This is the date it became a foundation on paper.

Zar raised two thousand three hundred and fifty dollars through School of Freedom, to put one girl into school in Indonesia.

A girl could not take up her place without a fiscal sponsor. Viva paid her tuition and became her sponsor.

Eighty people turned out in Hyde Park in London to demand that Afghan girls be let back into school. We played recordings of the girls singing, because in Afghanistan they are banned from singing in public.

Zar's Stars and Nico's Nerds opened with their own goals, their own pages, and progress bars that anyone can watch move in real time.

A college counseling call every week, and a one to one meeting with each girl on top of it. Applications, deadlines, transcripts, and what to do when a plan falls through.

The girls meet once a week to sing. It is not a subject and it does not appear on a transcript, and it is one of the few hours in the week that is theirs.

Zar spoke at a side event at CSW70, the seventieth session of the Commission on the Status of Women: “Radicalization of Education in Afghanistan: Access to Justice, and Implications for Peace and Security.”

Zar raised five thousand dollars for School of Freedom, another online school for girls in Afghanistan, to get it accredited and to fund girls who have no mahram.

Zar raised twelve thousand dollars, and five girls went into the Alekain Foundation school on the back of it.
