The story
We are raising €12,000 for five young Afghan women who have been accepted to study at a university in Hungary.
The university has generously offered each student a 75% tuition scholarship for their first semester, but there is still an initial amount that must be paid before the university can issue the documents they need to move forward with their visa process.
For each girl, we currently need €2,400:
€1,000: remaining 25% of first-semester tuition after the 75% scholarship
€1,200: one-time university registration fee
€200: application fee
That is €2,400 per student × 5 students = €12,000 total.
This €12,000 is our immediate fundraising goal.
Why is it urgent? Because once these university fees are covered, the university can issue the students’ acceptance/admission documents, which are essential for moving forward with their visa applications. The girls are expected to begin their studies in February 2027, and the immigration process can take significant time. Every week matters.
These five girls have already done their part. They have worked incredibly hard, completed their applications, provided their academic documents and English-language qualifications, and earned this opportunity. Now we need to help them reach the next step.
We need to raise €12,000 as quickly as possible so their university documents can be issued and we can move immediately into the visa process.
This is only the first stage of our fundraising. We will continue raising funds toward the additional costs involved in safely getting the girls to Hungary and supporting them as they begin their education. But right now, €12,000 is the amount standing between five accepted students and the next stage of their journey.
