Her story

Amina was first in her sixth-grade class the year the decree came down. Her report card still exists; the school that issued it, for her, effectively does not.

She wants to be a doctor. She has not adjusted that plan, only the route. She studies by lamplight from the books she kept, and teaches herself the parts no one is left to teach.

A sponsorship keeps a remote classroom, materials, and a teacher within her reach for $30 a month: roughly one dollar a day to keep a future doctor in training.

What she needs

    A seat in a remote classroom that no decree can close, with the sciences a future doctor needs.

    Biology and chemistry to replace the books she has already read to pieces.

    A teacher who can take her past the chapters she taught herself by lamplight.

To protect the girls we serve, student profiles are anonymized and representative of our first cohort. Every sponsorship funds a real student, and sponsors are matched as enrollment completes. Your gift is earmarked for this student. If her circumstances change, it moves to another student in the same program.
